Becca Vershbow has lived as an artist and art educator in San Francisco for the past 5 years, now just around the corner from Big Umbrella! She believes in the power of art as a medium for education, empowerment, community building, and social change.

Becca is from the East Coast, and graduated from Wesleyan University with high honors in studio art and a concentration in Sumi-e painting. Since then, her work has bounced between different mediums and subject matter, trying to find a balance between realism and abstraction.

She currently runs an afterschool program it a local elementary school, whose mission is to empower youth through art and community involvement. She is excited to have a place where she can focus on her own creativity and be challenged and inspired by a group of other artists.
